Winger's shock return

Matthew Etherington is in line for a shock return to the Stoke squad for tonight's FA Cup replay against Manchester City.

The winger looked to have suffered serious knee ligament damage during the original fifth round tie at Eastlands 11 days ago when he was carried off on a stretcher.

However, the former West Ham man is a quick healer and could be in contention for at least a place on the bench against Roberto Mancini's men.

City boss Tony Pulis will however, be without Abdoulaye Faye and Andy Wilkinson through suspension, whilst Danny Higginbotham will have a fitness test after missing Saturday's 2-1 win at Portsmouth with a back spasm.
