Justice done insists Shawcross

Ryan Shawcross says his disallowed goal in Stoke's recent Premier League game with Man City spurred them to FA Cup success last night.

The defender put away a last-gasp header from a Rory Delap long throw eight days ago but the Potters were denied all three points when referee Alan Wiley controversially ruled the effort out.

Shawcross personally put that right last night when he rose to head home a Delap throw in the fifth minute of extra-time to restore Stoke's lead after Dave Kitson's 79th-minute opener had been cancelled out by Craig Bellamy two minutes later.

The defender said: "I think there was a point to prove because of the disallowed goal last week. We wanted a victory to show how good a team we are. But we've done it again now. "

We have had a fantastic season so far and hopefully can continue that over the next couple of months.

"I've scored a couple off Rory's throws. When I get my timing right I seem to get a goal. I am just delighted to score and hopefully I can get a couple more."
