Richard Dunne has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland's friendly against Brazil at the Emirates Stadium, London, on Tuesday night.
The Aston Villa centre-back is the latest player to pull out of the squad after Robbie Keane's withdrawal on Sunday night.
Dunne, the 57 times capped Dubliner, picked up a knee injury in Villa's 2-1 Carling Cup final defeat to Manchester United at Wembley.
Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has named a central defensive partnership of Paul McShane and Sean St Ledger to face the five-time World champions in Dunne's absence.
Newcastle United striker Leon Best has replaced the injured Robbie Keane, who declared his unavailability after picking up a knock in Celtic's Old Firm derby defeat to Rangers.
Trapattoni has resisted the temptation to hand Wigan youngster James McCarthy his senior debut. The highly-regarded attacking midfielder is named on the bench, despite fears over his fitness after he sustained a leg injury in the Latics' defeat to Birmingham City on Saturday.
Also held in reserve are Portsmouth's Marc Wilson and the promising Manchester City defender Greg Cunningham, although both are expected to win their first caps at some point during the night with Trapattoni indicating that he will spring up to six players off the bench.
Ireland: Shay Given, Stephen Kelly, Paul McShane, Sean St Ledger, Kevin Kilbane, Liam Lawrence, Glenn Whelan, Keith Andrews, Damien Duff, Leon Best, Kevin Doyle.
