Villa star targets Wembley return

Brad Friedel has called on his Aston Villa team mates to put their Carling Cup final disappointment behind them by winning the FA Cup.

The American shot stopper was left disappointed by Phil Dowd's decision not to send off Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic as he felt it cost Villa the chance to win the club's first trophy for 14 years.

Friedel is now hopeful they can put the heartbreak of the 2-1 defeat behind them by heading back to Wembley in May in the final of the FA Cup.

"We started the game really well. We have seen the penalty now and it really should have been a sending-off," said Friedel.

"You feel really hard done because you would have liked to be playing against 10 men. But it wasn't to be, we will take the loss and hopefully get back to winning ways in the FA Cup next Sunday. "

We feel a bit hard done by that we didn't play with a man advantage, especially on a pitch as heavy as that and cutting up like that.

"With 10 men, they would have really tired towards the end but it wasn't to be. "

Hopefully we will get back here in the FA Cup and that is everyone's aim now.

We will try and be determined to get here in May."
