Stoke City have allowed Diego Arismendi to team-up with his fellow Uruguayan Gus Poyet at Brighton for the rest of the season.
The 22-year-old is moving to the League One side on loan to gain extra experience of British football under the watchful eye of one of his heroes.
City paid £2.6m to Nacional of Uruguay last summer but he has been limited to just two appearances for the Potters' first-team, both coming in the Carling Cup.
Arismendi told Stoke's official website, "Gus [Poyet] was always a player I admired as a kid because of the success he enjoyed in English football. "
Obviously I would love to achieve what he has; that is my aim.
"He is a player I spent a lot of time watching and learning from, so it will be great to have the chance to work with him between now and May."
