Wales' Andy Powell has been banned from the road for 15 months for driving a golf buggy while under the influence of alcohol.
Powell and another man were arrested at a service station just off the M4 in the early hours of February 14 after taking the vehicle from the Vale Hotel and Spa, where the Welsh team had been celebrating their 6 Nations victory over Scotland the previous day.
The Blues back row, who was removed from the national team squad following the incident, appeared before Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning and pleaded guilty to driving while unfit through drink.
Not only was Powell banned from the road for 15 months, he was also fined STG1,000 and ordered to pay STG85 costs and a STG15 victims surcharge.
"I fully accept the decision and sentence of the court today," he said in a statement.
"In doing so I am mindful of those whom I have let down by my actions and I again offer a full public apology, especially to my fans, my family, who have stood by me, and the senior officers, management and coaching staff of both the WRU and Cardiff Blues.
"I now intend to put this matter behind me and to get on with my rugby career and the remainder of the Cardiff Blues season. I still have aspirations to play for my country, which means so much to me.
"I realise that many young sportsmen and women look up to international rugby players and that some of them may be amused by my antics with a golf buggy. However, they should note my regret and be aware that I do not excuse or condone drink driving in any form."
