Bolton boss Owen Coyle is keen to wrap up a permanent deal for USA midfielder Stuart Holden in the summer.
The 24-year-old midfielder is on a short-term contract until the end of the season after leaving MLS side Houston Dynamos but Coyle is keen secure him on something more long-term.
Holden impressed on his debut against Tottenham in the FA Cup last week and again looked good in central midfield as Wanderers defeated Wolves last Saturday.
The midfielder would jump at the chance of a long-term contract but all talks will be on hold until Bolton know for sure what division they will be playing their football in next season.
