Jason Maguire says that he is determined not to let his 12-day ban prevent him from breaking the 100-winner mark for the first time in his riding career.
Maguire, with 84 wins for the season, currently sits in third position in the UK jockey championship behind mainstay high-runners Tony McCoy and Richard Johnson.
With just 16 to go to achieve the seasonal century however, the 29-year-old - the nephew of trainer and famous jockey Adrian - has been hit with the ban after he and four other riders took the wrong course at Newcastle on February 16.
There is now some worry that with a less eventful month ahead his charge to 100 may peter out.
However, he is deterrmined that that will not be the case and has been quoted by the Irish Post as saying: "I'm still well on track.
"But the ban definitely didn't help. I've 16 winners to go, but outside of Cheltenham this (March) can be a quiet month.
"I suppose when you get closer to your target, you worry a little more — but returning 100 winners would mean the world to me."
