Birmingham City defender Roger Johnson believes Joe Hart should be England's number one at this summer's World Cup in South Africa.
The on-loan Manchester City keeper missed out on his second cap for his country in Wednesday's friendly against Egypt when Fabio Capello opted for West Ham stopper Rob Green.
Hart has been outstanding for Birmingham this season since joining the club from Manchester City and seems certain to at least be in Capello's squad.
However, if the decision was left to Johnson, the 22-year-old would be England's main man.
He told the Sunday memory, "I do think he should be number one. I'm not a big stats person, but if you go on that then he probably warrants it.
"I don't know how old Rob Green is but Capello's probably gone with a bit more experience and that is how it is. I fancied Joe to play against Egypt.
"But football is about opinions and I think Fabio has said that Green is his number one and Joe will have to deal with that.
"Joe will be there (at the World Cup) and he'll have a lot of experience this time around. At the next World Cup he'll probably be number one."
