Andy Robinson has handed Nick De Luca his 16th Scotland cap for Saturday's Calcutta Cup clash with England at Murrayfield.
The 26-year-old will line out at outside centre in what is the only personnel change to the team beaten by Italy at the Stadio Flaminio on February 27 - a match in which De Luca came off the bench.
The Edinburgh star has not been named in the Scotland starting XV since the win over Canada at Pittodrie in November 2008.
Max Evans will have to make do with a place on the wing, a position he is not familiar with while Ulster's Simon Danielli drops to the bench.
Captain Chris Cusiter has shaken off a virus and flanker John Barclay, one of the 'Killer Bs', has recovered from a knee injury to start.
"The team has played some good rugby and we have been creating chances," Robinson said.
"We just need to take that next step and finish off a game."
Regarding Evans' move to the wing, the ex-England coach added: "Max has been our most potent attacker and we also want to see Nick and the qualities that he can bring to this game."
