Pearson - deals face 'acid test'

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is pondering bringing in some loan players but is unclear if the club can afford it.

The Foxes boss has warned he will not attempt to sign anyone just for the sake of it and they would have to offer the side something that they currently have not got and even then they may not be able to finance such a move.

"The acid test will be if we need to move on someone whether we can do it or not, because the bottom line is financially we are not exactly flush with money," he told the Mercury.

"Yes, we have people in mind who are targets, but whether we can actually do anything or not is another thing.

"We couldn't during the transfer window so whether we can do now or not remains to be seen.

"There are a lot of different criteria that determine whether you can do deals.

"It is just as likely that no-one will come in as it is they will come here.

"What is important to me is that, if a certain player is a target, we must determine if we can do the deal and, probably more importantly, whether the player wants to come here.

"Whether we need to or can do any business is an on-going process."
