Preview: WGC-CA Championship

One player who has the talent, if not quite the consistency, to come away from the World Golf Championships-CA Championship at Doral with a win is American Anthony Kim.

Kim's temperament has been questioned of late but his second place finish at last weekend's Honda Classic spoke of a career on the rise and the player himself says that he is hitting the ball better than at any other point in his career so far.

"Well, if I keep hitting it this good, it's going to be great for my game because it's a longer golf course," said Kim of Doral. "I'm reading the greens real well. My caddie and I are doing a good job of reading the grain, and that's the first thing that you have to look at."

Vijay Singh is another star who is worth consideration, if only for his previous outings in Florida. The Fijian has a series of top five wins at Doral and was runner-up just two years ago.

Geoff Ogilvy has been out of the limelight since winning the SBS Championship, instead concentrating on family life and the birth of his third child, but the stats show that few players are better at hitting the greens in regulation than the Australian.

He has a good history on this particular course, winning in 2008, while the fact that he is a winner already in 2010 counts in his favour.

Finally, Steve Stricker can never be overlooked and the fact that he moved to second in the world at one point this year makes him a favourite. With Phil Mickelson also in the field, it's going to be an interesting four days.
