Brogan handed starting role

Bernard Brogan is one of three changes Pat Gilroy has made to the team that overcame Mayo at Castlebar for the Allianz NFL Division One clash with Monaghan at Parnell Park on Saturday night.

Brogan, who has been named at full-forward, will be making his first start of the campaign against a Monaghan side who will surely be high on confidence following their thrilling win over Ulster neighbours and rivals Tyrone at Inniskeen last Sunday.

Rory O'Carroll and James McCarthy are available to Gilroy following their exploits with the county's U21s against Louth and will operate at full-back and right-half back respectively.

Paul Conlon and Hugh Gill are the two players to lose out in the defence while Brogan comes in for Kevin Bonner.

However, Conal Keaney, who had such a positive impact after coming on as a sub against Mayo, has been ruled out of contention after picking up a quad muscle injury last Sunday.

Dublin: S Cluxton; M Fitzsimons, R O'Carroll, P McMahon; J McCarthy, C O'Sullivan, G Brennan; E Fennell, R McConnell; A Hubbard, MD MacAuley, P Flynn; D Henry, B Brogan, K McManamon.
