McIntyre gives Dervan the nod

by Oli Skehan , 11 March 2010

John McIntyre has named Conor Dervan at right-half back for the Allianz NHL Division One clash with Tipperary at Semple Stadium on Sunday.

The Mullagh clubman, who has returned from a 12-week suspension, takes Donal Barry's place in defence in what is his first start for the Tribesmen since 2008.

The only other change sees James Skehill take Colm Callanan's place between the posts.

McIntyre's team travel to Thurles this weekend in search of a third win in as many games in the league against Liam Sheedy's side who will be hoping to push on following their defeat of reigning league and All-Ireland champions Kilkenny last Sunday.

Galway: J Skehill; F Moore, S Kavanagh, D Joyce; C Dervan, T Og Regan, D Collins; G Farragher, N Cahalan; A Callanan, C Donnellan, A Harte; I Tannian, J Gantley, N Healy.
