Lorik Cana will miss Sunderland's games against Man City and Birmingham after picking up his 10th booking of the season against Bolton.
The highly-rated Albanian, who set up Fraizer Campbell's fastest Premier League goal of the season after 41 seconds of the 4-0 win against the Trotters on Tuesday, later picked up a yellow card in the clash.
And that means Cana will automatically be handed a two-game suspension, ruling him out of home games against City and the Blues.
Therefore boss Steve Bruce will be hoping Kieron Richardson and Andy Reid will be fit for Sunday's visit of City, while Lee Cattermole is also a slight doubt after pulling up during the Bolton game.
