British number one Andy Murray wants player input over the selection of the future captain of the Davis Cup team.
Incumbent John Lloyd has seen his position come under threat and if he is removed, Murray wants to see the players consulted although he has stopped short of asking for absolute control.
The Scot reasoned: "The LTA have to decide whether they want to keep John in place.
"
But if he does lose his job then I would like to think the players would have a voice.
"I'm not saying players should decide solely on who the captain should be - I don't think that's right - but I think the players should have a strong say."
Britain are close to dropping to the lowest level of the Davis Cup after last weekend's 3-2 defeat in Lithuania.
