Carton to make Wexford debut

by Sean Nolan , 13 March 2010

Noel Carton will make his first appearance for Wexford as goalkeeper in Sunday’s National Hurling League clash with Clare.

Following Damien Fitzhenry’s retirement from the inter-county scene last month, the position is up for grabs and Colm Bonnar gives Carton his chance in the crucial Division 2 game with the Banner County.

In other changes to the Model line-up, Eoin Doyle returns to the full-back line and Tomás Waters moves to the half-forwards while the full-forward line remains the same, with Jim Berry, Stephen Banville and Rory Jacob retaining their places.

Wexford (NHL v Clare): Noel Carton, Eoin Doyle, Paul Roche, Keith Rossiter, Malachy Travers, Ciarán Kenny, Richie Kehoe, Colm Farrell, Harry Kehoe, Diarmuid Lyng, Tomás Waters, Andrew Shore, Rory Jacob, Stephen Banville, Jim Berry.
