Potters ace is aiming high

Danny Collins is confident that Stoke can secure a top-10 finish in the Premier League following the 0-0 draw against Aston Villa.

The Potters defender secured his place in Tony Pulis' starting XI on Saturday despite Danny Higginbotham's return from injury and he did not disappoint with a solid performance.

And, following the hard-fought draw, Collins feels Stoke should be looking to overhaul the likes of Birmingham and Fulham between now and the end of the season.

"If we can get a couple more wins, we can push on for 10th spot," Collins told the Sentinel.

"We've got to be positive. I think Birmingham and Fulham are just above us and it would be nice to get among them if we can.

"The lads have to be looking up, but the gaffer might have half an eye on the teams just behind us. But that's only human nature."

On the Villa draw, he added: "Overall, I would think that Villa would say they are happy with the point.

"It was a good battle and a lot of hard work, but not too many chances at either end.

"I thought we looked dangerous on the break, but we have to be more than happy with the point when you consider all the games we've had and how good a team Villa are.

"They're having a good season and have a lot to play for, but they knew it was going to be a tough game.

"In the end, we were probably the more likely to win it and Robert Huth went close with a late header.

"The gaffer said he's proud of the work rate we've put in after playing Chelsea and Burnley in the past week.

"For myself, I've got back into the team and I'm enjoying my football."
