Stoke boss Tony Pulis is hoping a week off will help full-back Andy Wilkinson recharge his batteries in time for the weekend.
Wilkinson has looked a little tired of late and his performances have been quite to his usual high standards.
Pulis believes he is simply exhausted after a busy period of league and cup games and as a result left him on the bench for the goalless draw with Aston Villa on Saturday.
The City manager told BBC Radio Stoke: "Andy has looked tired as he does not sleep well after games.
"He is not getting to sleep until about five or six in the morning, then napping.
"Hopefully we will all be firing again by the time when come to face Tottenham, who are a fantastic team."
