Teemu Tainio admits he has all to play for between now and the end of the season as the on-loan midfielder plans for his future.
The Finland international joined Birmingham on loan from Sunderland in September, but a long-term knee injury has limited his opportunities to make an impact at St. Andrews.
Tainio expects to be moving on in the summer from the North-East club and he is determined to use the remaining games of the current campaign to show his worth to Alex McLeish or watching managers who may be interested.
He told the Birmingham Post: "I have one more year at Sunderland on my contract. If the club tell me I am staying, then I stay.
"I am really open-minded on my future.
"I will just play to the end of the season with Birmingham and hopefully I will get a few more games.
"When you see what the team has done this year, it's really good. It's hard to say what will happen but I am open-minded.
"My knee feels good. I haven't had any problems since the operation.
"The injury is done and dusted and I hope I can get to play a part."
