Wakefield have confirmed that they have been approached by Super League rivals Huddersfield about signing Danny Brough.
Wildcats executive director Diane Maskill revealed on Monday the club had made numerous attempts to keep the prolific scrum-half at Belle Vue, but with no success.
The Giants are expected to put forward players as well as cash to secure Brough's signature as soon as possible and Maskill warned Wakefield will only sell if the deal is right.
He said: "Huddersfield Giants have approached us concerning Danny and we are considering what they have said to us.
"
Any deal would have to be in the best interests of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and enable us to maintain or improve the quality of the team's competitiveness and potential."
