Peterborough boss Jim Gannon has hinted he will stay at London Road beyond the end of the season after being offered a longer contract.

Gannon was initially appointed on a short-term deal until the end of the current campaign after replacing Mark Cooper earlier in the season.

The former Stockport boss has helped Posh secure four wins in nine fixtures, including the club's first victory on the road, and he has now hinted he may remain with the club after the season has ended.

"The club is lucky to have two passionate football people in charge," Gannon said.

"I now have a good feel for the club. I haven't made a definitive decision yet, but things should be clearer in my mind in a couple of days.

"It was an easy decision to come here on a short-term basis but it will be a much more difficult one to make now."

Gannon met with met with Posh owner Darragh MacAnthony for the first time on Monday evening, with the pair discussing a contract offer that could see him remain in charge at London Road beyond the end of the current campaign.
