Blues boss set to be handed £100m war chest

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti will reportedly be given £100m to spend on new players by chief Roman Abramovich in the summer.

Ancelotti met Abramovich for talks at the Blues training ground on Wednesday in the wake of their Champions League defeat at the hands of Italian champions Inter Milan the previous evening.

The wealthy Russian is said to be ready to fund a new wave of spending at the end of the season with the likes of Fernando Torres, Sergio Aguera, Maicon, Bastian Schweinsteiger and goalkeeper Asenjo all having been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.

With changes apparently on the way as Chelsea rebuild for the future, it seems inevitable that there will be a clearout of players in the summer with the futures of Deco, Joe Cole, Paolo Ferreira, Juliano Belletti and even Nicolas Anelka all said to be under threat.
