Captain winning fitness battle

Burnley captain Steven Caldwell is winning his fight against his long term pelvic problem as he looks to get back into the first team.

A pelvic injury has kept him out of the side since before Christmas but he is now making significant progress and hopes to be back into the first team before too long.

Caldwell may even feature in the clash with Wigan this weekend although that looks unlikely but he is keen to return.

He told the club's website: ""I am on the training ground with the physios and hopefully with another couple of good days then back in with the lads.

"It may be a little bit of time after that or may be straight back in from there, I'll just see how it feels.

"But I am very optimistic this time and feeling better than I have for a long time
