Boss Owen Coyle has hailed defender Gary Cahill following his swift return from a potentially season-ending injury.
It was feared that Cahill would miss the remainder of the campaign after he was found to have a blood clot in his left arm but the 24-year-old is in line to make an amazing comeback against Everton at the weekend after returning to training at the start of this week.
Coyle is delighted to have one of his best defenders available for the end-of-season run-in and told Sky Sports: "It is terrific to have Gary back training with the group. We are all very pleased with his progress and we will keep monitoring him."
Cahill added: "It is a case of working hard and getting back up to match sharpness.
"
It is not the longest injury or illness so it has been easy to slot straight back in.
"But I am bound to lose a little bit of fitness because I have been out of the game. Hopefully I can play a part in the rest of the season."
