The win over Nottingham Forest could be the turning point that pushes the club into play-off contention, according to Ryan Shotton.
The win over Forest on Tuesday has put Mark Robins's men just six points behind the play-off positions and Shotton believes they victory could have a 'massive' influence on the rest of the season.
"The Play-offs have been mentioned and we know there are a lot of good teams up there," Shotton told the Sheffield Star. "But we'll just take keep creeping up there in the last few games of the season - and maybe steal a place.
"
We've made massive steps from last year.
I wasn't here last season but I kept an eye on all leagues and saw we were down there and survived.
"We expected a tough game against Forest, but we handled it well. When we played them at their place it was a lot of passing, but this time it was a lot of long balls. For periods of the game we dominated."
