England unveil Tour schedule

by Mark Doyle , 18 March 2010

England will embark on a five-match tour of Australia and New Zealand this summer which will include two clashes with the Wallabies.

The first Test will take place in Perth on June 12, either side of midweek clashes with the Australian Barbarians, while the second Test is pencilled in for Sydney seven days later.

England will round off their antipodean trip with a meeting with the New Zealand Maori on June 23 in Napier, as part of the latter side's centenary celebrations.

"The tour presents all the players and coaches with a great opportunity to test themselves against some excellent teams," he said.

"All five matches will be very tough and give us the opportunity to look at some players who may not have had the opportunity to play on this tour if it had been restricted to two Test matches.

"The games will be great occasions and to play the New Zealand Maori in their centenary year is a huge honour."
