The going at Cheltenham on Thursday will not inconvenience Tranquil Sea according to his jockey Andrew McNamara.
Edward O'Grady's charge lines up in the Ryanair Chase and McNamara feels his mount will cope with the quicker conditions.
The ground was soft when Tranquil Sea beat Ryanair favourite Poquelin in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham in November, and Thursday's going is described as good to soft, good in places.
"We beat Poquelin very well, but I don't think that was Poquelin's true running," McNamara said on The Morning Line.
"A lot of people our saying our fella wants soft ground, but that's only because he won on it in November.
"He won a Grade 1 novice hurdle at the Punchestown festival on good ground and it won't bother him. He's a fluent jumper."
