St Mirren will give Chris Innes as long as possible to prove his fitness ahead of Sunday's cup-final date with Rangers.
The defender has been struggling with a groin problem but St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson will give the defender until as late as possible to make himself available for the clash with the SPL leaders.
MacPhreson will definitely be without long-term absentee Tom Brighton, while Rory Loy is ineligible as he is on loan from the Ibrox side.
Meanwhile, St Mirren legend Tony Fitzpatrick has backed MacPherson after some sections of the Buddies faithful criticised the boss for the team's poor performance in the SPL, despite their cup-final appearance.
He said: "Honestly, I think the criticism has been very unfair. I played for the club, but I'm a St Mirren supporter now and what the guy has done is incredible.
"
He has taken us out of the First Division and we have stayed in the SPL for a few years, we've been to semi-finals and got to the Challenge Cup Final.
"He has also had to sell players to survive and yet we are in the final of major competition, so it's very unfair."
