Rangers duo Madjid Bougherra and Kirk Broadfoot will miss Sunday's Co-operative Insurance Cup final with respective hamstring problems.
Broadfoot suffered his injury in training a week ago and despite his best efforts to regain his fitness to face former club St Mirren on Sunday he has now lost his battle and will play no part.
Bougherra has not played for Rangers since February 28 when the Ibrox side secured a 1-0 win over Celtic and, although he is close to a return, Sunday's cup-final comes too soon for the Algerian.
Danny Wilson and David Weir look set to start in the heart of the Rangers defence, while second-choice keeper Neil Alexander is expected to get the nod ahead of Allan McGregor having started every game in the competition so far.
