Teemu Tainio is out of Birmingham's game against his parent club Sunderland tomorrow as he is not allowed to play under League rules.

The midfielder is currently on loan at St Andrews from the Black Cats after finding himself surplus to requirements in the North-East.

Meanwhile, there is better news concerning Stuart Parnaby who is on course for a swift return from the ankle injury he picked up at Portsmouth.

The full-back is back in the squad for the clash with Steve Bruce's men but long-term absentees Lee Carsley (ankle) and Garry O'Connor (hip) remain sidelined.
