Rovers Striker Blow

by Admin , 19 March 2010 Rovers Striker Blow

On-loan Doncaster striker Billy Sharp will be unavailable for Saturday's clash against Sheffield United due to a clause in the deal.

As with many loan signings in recent times, players who are due to play against their parent club are not permitted to be selected and, with 15 goals to his name so far this term, manager Sean O'Driscoll will miss the frontman.

James Hayter is expected to replace him.

Meanwhile, the boss has several players back available after injury.

Adam Lockwood is back in contention to start at the back after his foot injury, however Sam Hird and Shelton Martis will hope to keep their places after the midweek win at Peterborough.

Fellow defender James O'Conor will hope to feature after being dropped to the bench at London Road, as will midfielder Marc Wilson who finds himself in the same situation.

Rovers are looking to continue their recent good run, five games unbeaten, and could close to within a point of the play-offs if things go their way.
