Harrington drops as Furyk leads

by Tony Cuddihy , 21 March 2010

Overnight leader Padraig Harrington had a disappointing third round in the Transitions Championship in Florida, with Jim Furyk storming into a three shot lead.

Harrington had led by a single shot over from a group that included Furyk, but only managed a disappointing one-over 72 to leave himself on seven-under for the tournament, four shots behind the American.

Furyk himself picked up birdies on the first, 11th, 12th and 15th holes and managed to add to his earlier rounds of 67 and 68.

Three shots behind Furyk is a chasing pack of KJ Choi, Retief Goosen, Sweden's Carl Petterson and Bubba Watson, while Harrington is level with Jeff Maggert and England's Luke Donald.

Donald's round of 67 - including six birdies - would have been better again had he not bogeyed the 18th.
