Jim Furyk followed Ernie Els' example by claiming his first PGA Tour victory in two years when he beat KJ Choi by one stroke in the Transitions Championships in Florida.
The final round was delayed by almost four hours because of a thunderstorm but that did not prevent Furyk from carded a two-under-par 69 for a 271 total, one better than Choi, who picked up four shots in his closing 18 holes.
The former world number two was three shots ahead at the start of play and he stretched his lead further with birdies at the first and third holes before giving one of those back with a four at the par-three fourth.
Three birdies in five holes from the 8th brought him even closer to victory but the 39-year-old let his lead slip with three bogeys over the final six holes, including the par-four 18th.
Choi started brightly at the Innisbrook course with four birdies in the opening six holes. He added another at the 11th, but his solitary bogey at the eighth ultimately meant he was unable to force a play-off as Furyk was crowned the winner for the 14th time in his career, but his first since the 2007 RBC Canadian Open.
Bubba Watson finished the tournament on 11-under-par with Nick Watney a further two shots back, while South African Retief Goosen ended the day on eight-under.
England's Luke Donald was the highest-placed European on seven-under, the same score as Stephen Ames, one ahead of Ireland's Padraig Harrington.
The triple Major winner ended in a share of eighth following a one-over-par 72. Although he made three birdies he cancelled each of them out with four bogeys, including his five at the 18th.
