Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric is confident that manager Nigel Pearson will be staying at the club and signing a new deal.

Talks are scheduled between the pair when the season is over but the owner sees no reason why Pearson, who has been linked with a number of posts, would want to move on.

"He is well respected and I can't see why Nigel would move anywhere," Mandaric told the BBC.

"No matter where we end up I want Nigel to stay and he will stay, it's as simple as that. "

Nigel has done an outstanding job.

He is a good man and as I said the day I first met him, this is our man.

"I am in contact with Nigel all the time. We will discuss his long-term contract at the end of the season as we have to focus on every game right now."
