Inverness Caley Thistle striker Richie Foran has signed a new deal to prove he's not interested in a move to Aberdeen.

The 29-year-old, who has been vital to Caley Thistle's First Division championship success, put pen to paper on a new two-year deal to stay in Inverness and end Dons boss Mark McGhee's hopes of taking him to Pittodrie.

McGhee watched Foran and teammate Jonny Hayes, a 22-year-old winger, twice last month and was interested in both players.

The once hotheaded former Motherwell striker was flattered by the interest but says he does not want to leave Caledonian Stadium.

He said: "There were two really good SPL sides interested but why leave when things are so good here?

"I have left places before.

I joined Southend from Motherwell and it did not work out.

I am settled in the town, I have a lovely girlfriend and I have fallen in love with the club, so why should I leave?"
