Roma president Rosella Sensi has told Real Madrid that they have no chance of signing Daniele De Rossi.
With current Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho set to take control at the Santiago Bernabeu, speculation is rife that the Portuguese will make an immediate move for De Rossi, who is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in Serie A.
However, Sensi insists that De Rossi is going nowhere.
"Daniele will remain at Roma forever, Real can forget about him," the Roma chief told Il Messaggero.
De Rossi, for his part, insists he would never actively seek a move away from Rome.
"I don't know anything about Real's interest," he said. "To be linked with important clubs makes me happy because it's a sign that I'm doing things well.
"I would consider a move away only if the club tells me that for technical, tactical or financial reasons they must sell me.
"Would I have any problems working with (Jose) Mourinho? Absolutely not."
