Gunners could eye Cahill again

by Admin , 08 July 2010

Bolton Wanderers are bracing themselves for further interest from Arsenal in Gary Cahill after the Gunners missed out on Simon Kjaer.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was keen on the Danish central defender but German outfit Wolfsburg have nipped in and Wenger could now turn to Cahill to bolster his backline.

Wenger has already completed the signing of Laurent Koscielny from Lorient for a reported £10million but he wants another defender and is a long-time admirer of Cahill.

It means Bolton could face a huge battle to keep hold of the defender as Manchester United are also said to be sniffing around and could be ready to offer £15million.

Bolton will not sell at that price but if a bidding war begins it will push up the price and Trotters boss Owen Coyle may decide to cash in.
