Lopez to stay at Catania

by Admin , 22 July 2010

Catania have announced that they have no intention of selling star striker Maxi Lopez during the summer.

The Argentinian striker only arrived at the Stadio Angelo Massimino in January but scored 11 goals in 17 matches to keep the Rossazzurri in Serie A.

His form has reportedly provoked interest from fellow Italian side Juventus but Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco has rejected any talk of a transfer for the player.

"Maxi Lopez's future will be decided by Catania, and I can assure you 101% that Maxi will remain with us. The only way that he would leave is if someone offers the club 80 million euros and kills me.

"There is no remote possibility of this happening."
