Klasnic deal in 24 hours

Bolton are in talks with French side Nantes to negotiate the return of Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic on a season-long loan-deal.

Klasnic proved a huge hit with the Bolton faithful last season as the 30-year-old bagged eight goals in 27 games, with many of his appearances coming as a second half substitute.

The Croatian was signed by former boss Gary Megson and struggled to cement a place in the starting line-up under Owen Coyle but the current Bolton boss has decided to reignite his interest in Klasnic and try and bring him back to the Reebok Stadium.

Coyle attempted to secure a deal for Klasnic earlier in the summer but the Wanderers could not match his reported £60,000 a week wages.

However, Nantes failed to win promotion back into the French top-flight and they desperately need to get their high-earners off the wage bill.

No buyer could be found for Klasnic and Bolton are now hopeful another loan-deal can be negotiated in which they would pay a proportion of his wages, with Nantes making up the difference.

Some sources have speculated that a deal could be completed within the next 24 hours.
