Kempton appointment likely for Pady

Forpadydeplasterer is likely to be among Kauto Star's opposition for the King George VI Chase at Kempton on St Stephen's Day.

The eight-year-old has never raced beyond two-and-a-half miles - he was second to Albertas Run in the John Smith's Melling Chase on his penultimate start - but he has mostly been campaigned over two miles.

Indeed, Tom Cooper's gelding won the 2009 Arkle Trophy over the minimum distance and was second in the Queen Mother Champion Chase in March but connections are keen to try him over three miles.

While Cooper has not ruled out having another crack at the Champion Chase, he has revealed the King George VI Chase is the early season target for his stable star.

"One of the fastest times for the Champion Chase in 25 years was in 2010 which gives us lots of options," said Cooper.

"We are certainly going to try him over further, but I wouldn't rule out going back.

"He came back in training on the 12th of July. He had 12 weeks out and he won't run before November.

"He may have one run and then if the owners are anxious to give him a chance over three miles I suppose the ideal place would be Kempton."
