GAA abandons front row covers

by GAA Staff , 21 August 2010

The GAA have made around 2,000 pitch-side tickets available for Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final between Cork and Dublin.

The three rows of seats closest to the Croke Park pitch had previously been covered and unavailable as part of the battle to keep supporters from encroaching onto the pitch.

However, with the demand for tickets for the clash of the giants so large, and the game reaching sell-out point, the GAA have abandoned the protection policy and put the last remaining seats in the of the Hogan, Cusack and Davin Stands up for sale.

The game will be the first all season to come close to full capacity, with the GAA releasing a statement that said: "Due to the huge demand for tickets to Sunday's GAA football semi-final between Cork and Dublin, the front three rows of the lower tiers have now been released for purchase."
