Preview: Stoke v Shrewsbury

by setanta.com staff , 23 August 2010

Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones will miss Tuesday night's Carling Cup second-round tie with Shrewsbury with an ankle injury.

Mamady Sidibe could be out for up to six months after an operation on the Achilles tendon he ruptured against Spurs on Saturday.

Shrewsbury will be without winger Lionel Ainsworth and defender Danny O'Donnell, so Shane Cansdell-Sheriff is likely to come in.

Midfielder Kevin McIntyre will be available after completing a three-match ban, but striker Matt Harrold will serve a one-game suspension.

Nathan Elder has knee ligament damage, but fellow striker Kris Bright has recovered from illness.
