Musharakaat will need hard ground if she is to run in Saturday’s Chichester Observer Prestige Stakes.
Ed Dunlop will not let the filly go on soft if that is what Goodwood provides on Saturday, so he is eagerly watching the sky in the hope of positive weather.
The Iffraaj horse grabbed a fine debut win, but struggled on soft behind White Moonstone when stepping up for the Sweet Solera Stakes. That left Dunlop with plenty of food for thought and ultimately he is being decisive ahead of the weekend.
"I think the ground did not suit her at Newmarket last time and there is a fair bit of rain around this week,” Dunlop was quoted as saying by the Press Association.
"The other possible option is the May Hill at Doncaster, it depends on what sort of rain there is.
"I think she can handle a bit of cut, but that she'll be a better filly on faster ground.
"I've spoken to Angus Gold (racing manager) and the decision will be up to him and Sheikh Hamdan (owner).
"She's a big filly who will improve - she's certainly not just a two-year-old."
