Andrews, Hyland answer Breffni call

by GAA Staff , 27 August 2010

Val Andrews and Terry Hyland have been charged with the task of turning around the fortunes of Cavan football.

The pair were ratified on Thursday night as the Cavan senior football management team for a three-year term, with a review to be held after two years.

A statement from the Cavan County Board confirmed: "The ratification was a unanimous decision by the clubs of Cavan following a recommendation from the management committee of Cavan County Board earlier in the week.

"This appointment is with immediate effect."

Ballymun Kickhams clubman Andrews had Hyland as part of his backroom team during his previous spell in charge of the Breffni county from 1999 to 2001 - the year they last reached an Ulster final.

Hyland managed the Cavan Junior and U21 sides this year and achieved notable success with Lavey, who last year won the Cavan Intermediate title for the first time.
