Fulham boss Mark Hughes has revealed his delight at retaining Mark Schwarzer after summer interest from Arsenal.
The veteran Australian was the subject of two summer bids from the Emirates side but Hughes has revealed there was 'no chance' Schwarzer could have left as he did not have a replacement goalkeeper lined up.
"We understood that there was an interest from Arsenal, but given our current goalkeeping situation there was no chance of him leaving," said Hughes.
"There were two real strong enquiries, but there was never a bid on deadline day."
