Pulis delight at deadline dealings

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has revealed his delight at the captures of Eidur Gudjohnsen, Marc Wilson and Jermaine Pennant on deadline day.

Defender Wilson has inked a four year deal after making the switch from Portsmouth, Gudjohnsen has signed a permanent one-year deal and Pennant sealed a loan switch from Spanish side Real Zaragoza until January.

Pulis was one of the busiest Premier League bosses on deadline day and the Potters manager revealed his delight at securing the trio.

He said: "It shows the way the club's moved on but we've got to make sure they come in and have the same attitude as the rest of the players. If they do that then hopefully they'll make us a better team."

The three new faces have all been included in Pulis' 25-man Premier League squad, with the only notable omission being Mamady Sidibie, who has been ruled out with a snapped Achilles and is likely to be out of action until the New Year, with managers able to make changes to their chosen 25 during the January transfer window.

Stoke squad: Asmir Begovic, Danny Collins, Rory Delap, Salif Diao, Matthew Etherington, Abdoulaye Faye, Ricardo Fuller, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Danny Higginbotham, Robert Huth, Kenwyne Jones, Carlo Nash, Jermaine Pennant, Danny Pugh, Ryan Shawcross, Thomas Sorensen, Tuncay Sanli, Ryan Shotton, Tom Soares, Michael Tonge, Jonathan Walters, Glenn Whelan, Dean Whitehead, Andy Wilkinson, Marc Wilson.
