Bayern threaten Holland with legal action

Bayern Munich could line up legal proceedings against the Dutch Football Federation after they played Arjen Robben through injury.

The former Chelsea winger picked up a leg muscle injury playing for the national team in a friendly against Hungary before the start of the World Cup in South Africa.

However the 26-year-old played through the injury and helped the Dutch team reach the final of the competition before they were beaten by eventual world champions Spain.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has stated that the club want compensation from the DFF as the injury has put Robben out of action for the club.

He said: "If we don't manage to come to a just and reasonable agreement with the Dutch, we will have no other choice but to launch legal proceedings against them and their team doctor.

"It was unreasonable to take him to the World Cup.

"It is the fault of the Dutch and the doctor alone."
