Preview: Celtic v Inverness (Weds)

by Setanta staff , 21 September 2010

Scott Brown and Patrick McCourt will not feature for Celtic against Inverness in Wednesday’s Co-operative Insurance Cup third-round tie.

Scotland midfielder Brown suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s win over Kilmarnock, while Northern Ireland’s McCourt also suffered a knock in that game, the crafty playmaker sustaining a shoulder issue.

An ankle sprain sees James Forrest also ruled out, while defender Jos Hooiveld picked up a knock of his own in training and is also a doubt.

French defender Kenny Gillet will miss the next month of Caley’s season after he picked up a knee injury that has ruled him out for a month, while on-loan Hibs full-back Kevin McCann, Dani Sanchez and Gil Blumenshtein are all set for fitness tests after sitting out the weekend defeat to Hearts.

Richie Foran did appear off the bench for the first time this season after knee surgry though and the Irishman may again play a part at Celtic Park on Wednesday.

Celtic (from): Forster, Loovens, Cha Du-Ri, Majstorovic, Izaguirre, Murphy, Ledley, Samaras, Maloney, Wilson, Rogne, Hooiveld, Hooper, Stokes, Kayal, Zaluska, Juarez, Ki, Towell, Mulgrew.
