Gilks out of Scotland squad

Blackpool keeper Matt Gilks has picked up an injury problem and has pulled out of the Scotland squad for their Euro 2012 double header.

Gilks was the hero on Sunday pulling off a fantastic last minute save to deny Liverpool's Sotirios Kyrgiakos from point blank range to ensure the Seasiders picked up the shock win of the season so far.

Gilkes picked up a dead leg in the match and has now pulled out of the internationals, but he will hopefully be fully fit and available for the clash with Manchester City a week on Sunday.

"I got a dead leg then and I already had a niggle which I picked up against Blackburn," he told the club's website.

"Maybe it is rest that I need really but I was delighted to be named in the squad again."
